DVR-MS Conversion
By NateFor those of you who wish to take TV recordings you may have made in MCE 2005, or Vista Home Prem/Ultimate may want to consider this. You can actually use the provided Windows Movie Maker to actually make your TV recordings work in the PS3. All you have to do is import your TV recording into Movie Maker, Publish it to your computer as a WMV HD for Xbox 360, and set a name for your show, I usually just name the file of the WMV as the same as the TV show I recorded and date it, then when it’s done, it’ll take at least an hour for a half-hour show, iirc to convert to WMV from DVR-MS in the X360 quality mode (even tho it says Xbox 360 quality, it’s the same for PS3). Then use Windows Media Player 11 or TVersity to stream that TV recording, and you’ll have it in the normal 4:3 mode, usually. Otherwise, if you record in a lower WMV quality, you’ll end up with a significant pillarbox, which will look very funny and squished vertically.
